Our Process

Our Process

Inspired by art, nature and the feminine essence. Designed to celebrate every body. Produced slowly, mindfully and ethically.

Design

Our main design focus is creating clothes that feel both luxurious and chic without sacrificing on ease and comfort.

At Minggu our goal is to continue to curate and design collections that emanate beauty & effortlessness.

We are endlessly inspired by nature, art and the delicate feminine essence of the female form and spirit. We adore the soft and sensual energy that the feminine carries and to celebrate we have designed the perfect pieces to compliment her every move no matter where she is.

We intentionally decided to focus on loose silhouette designs with the desire to create clothes that look beautiful on every body.

In truth it has not been without its challenges as we navigate varying heights and widths but nothing we have not overcome.

Currently we stock XS - XL with the plan to extend our size range in the near future as we continue to evolve. However as everything is handmade in small batches we are delighted to offer customized sizing that may be pre-ordered upon request (see more at sizing)

We are also looking forward to introducing shorter and longer versions of certain pieces - coming soon.

Fabrics

We are really fascinated by the different textures of natural fibered fabric and the unique dimensions they can bring to a piece. Inspiration to create a new design often comes after we’ve discovered a new fabric we adore, this is why using a variety of different fabrics are at the core of our designs.

We source all our fabrics and materials in Bali Indonesia. As a small business that is conscious of the environmental impact of the textile industry we are doing our best to use as much natural and organic fabrics as possible in our collections. We recognize synthetic materials have their time and place, nonetheless we are happy to say that we will not be including them in our designs, as we are well aware of the damage they cause by shedding micro plastics into our waterways.

However the current availability of certified organic fabrics is limited therefore we are using a combination of both organic certified and uncertified natural and semi-natural fabrics.

These fabrics include organic Cotton, Linen, Ramie and sustainable Rayon (also known as Viscose, Tencel, Lyocell and Cupro depending on the brand).

Breathability and how they feel against the skin are huge priorities for us when deciding on fabrics. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible while looking and feeling your best.

Production

We are proud to produce our clothing on the island of Bali, at an Australian sister-owned factory. Finding the right manufacturer has been the biggest challenge in our business, but we couldn’t be more pleased with the factory we've finally partnered with for our production.

At the heart of their business is a commitment to people, ensuring a supportive and inspiring work environment for their talented team. Our clothing is crafted in a clean, spacious, and bright factory, with plenty of natural daylight and healthy working conditions. They are dedicated to preserving the handmade nature of the industry, continuing the incredible tradition of artisanal craftsmanship in Indonesia.

Our manufacturer’s values are perfectly aligned with ours, giving us confidence that the quality of our garments is truly exceptional.
